Hey Theresa! Glad surgery went well and you are doing fine, I am so sorry I didn't make it to the hospital to see you... things have just been crazy around here plus trying to get ready for vacation!  I don't think I will ever get any time for my friends and myself again!  These kids are driving me crazy - always something going on or last minute projects popping up! I didn't like the beneprotein either... I ordered the unflavored Unjury and could not tolerate it.  Tried going to the GNC store and trying other powders from there but it just seemed like all the powders would make me sick!  I had a very hard time getting the amounts of protein I needed and you could see it in all the hair I lost!  Dr. Cleveland warned me if I didn't start getting my protein in somehow, I would start looking like Sinead O'Connor and he was so right! lol I hope you can find something soon that will work for you!  Sorry I am not much help, just wanted to say HI!  Keep me posted on how you are doing.....

I drank Isopure when I first came home. It can be found at GNC. It is not really good but tolerable. It comes in fruit flavors and is water based.  I also drank advantedge. It somes in chocolate and vanilla. Get it really cold over ice and it is pretty good. I now make my own using Designer Whey powder. It is better to me than any premixed protein drink I have tried. It can be found at most health food stores and comes in a wide variety of flavors. Vanilla Praline is my fave! I came home from the hospital on chewable prenatal vitamins prescribed by my surgeon. I now take flintstones chewables.  I just buy cal-trate. Can be found at walmart. Hope you can find a protein drink you like. Best of Lucka nd Congrats on you surgery!

I had LapBand on 12/6/07 so I am still on clear liquids until today. I had my first  very thinned creamy soups. It was great to taste something other than jello and broth. Tonight I am making broccili soup, but  I hate to make a big pot since I now eat only about a 1/4 cup at a time. I just hate wasting food. But it will be worth wasting for me to taste something good again.  I will then just stick with the campbells microwaveable cups of soup until I move onto other foods.

May add some pudding or apple sauce in a couple days.

Hello, I am one week out of RNY lap bipass surgery.  I don't really like the beneprotein powder they sent me home with.  I am looking for a new protein or some other way to get that in.  Where in Jackson is the best place to go to find drinks, etc that will let you try it before you buy it?  Also what is the best chewable calcium citrate and chewable vitamins?   I am still on full liquids and ready for the mushy food, or at least something I can chew.  Hope everyone has a great Christmas!!  Please post your opinions please.  I'm home jus****ching tv and being on the computer, so I'll be watching. Thanks all, Theresa

I agree with the previous poster. This is board is sloooooow!! Lets get this party started!! I know there are lots of us WLS guys and gals in MS. I meet new ones on a regular basis!!! Lets make our board POP with excitement!! So...here goes!!!!! What did you eat for dinner today??? I'll be prefectly honest. My food choice was not a good one. I ate a grilled hotdog, no bun and baked onion rings. Someone was eating onion rings at work the other day and I have wanted some ever since. SO today, I stopped at the local piggly wiggly on my way home and bought a bag of Ore Ida Onion Rings, ame home and baked a few. Boom, my craving is gone!!  So, tell me about your dinner choices...the good, the bad and the ugly.....lol!!

Topic: Please come back
I am not sure who even gets on here anymore from Hattiesburg.  This board has gotten so slow but I thought I would post the info anyway. Well, our local support group here in Hattiesburg used to be very active and thriving.  Well, the last year it has basically gone to nothing.  And there are several reasons for that.  The first coordinator we had was really great and we lost her as she quit working for Pine Grove and opened her own practice.  The lady *****placed her was nice enough but she had absolutely no get up and go and did not know what to do with the group.  We basically me once a month to chit chat.  So, people lost interest and quit coming.  She is now gone and the group hasn't had a coordinator and it has just been a mess.  Well, in January I will officially be coordinating the meetings along with Janet Crawford, and Christine plans on helping us as well when she can.  She is expecting a little one soon and will be busy busy with dipaers and bottles.  We have some great ideas for things to do, and Janet plans on visiting some support groups in the Mobile area and see what all they do each month and how they keep longer term post ops coming back.  So, I just wanted to let everyone know that hopefully this group will now get back its gusto, and if you left and haven't been in a while please come back and give it another try.  We hope to address some long term post op issues and help with those having regain and such.   Well, our next meeting is going to be January 21st at 6:30 in Assembly Hall at Pine Grove. I hope to see lots of people there from the good old days of this group.  And anyone out there who lives near the Hattiesburg area feel free to come and join us.  We like newcomers.  Melissa
