Let me think.. I had mine done on May 21.. was on clear liquids for a couple of days then I remember moving to the mushy stage in mid to late July so thats about right.  Don't forget your sf puddings/ sf jellos, In the early stages I couldn't handle sweet potatoes to well so I  had every type of mashed potato imaginable.  I would recommend you speak with the nutritionist on staff.  I would if I didnt live 3 1/2 hours away but sounds like you might be on a little plateau which is normal.  Another thing I enjoyed at a soup consistancy was Cambells Select Tomato Basil Soup its in a carton.  Plus I plended chili up.  Bush's homestyle chilli I'd add a little water to it till it was as a liquid added some hot sauce and was good to go.

Ain't no stopping me now!  I'm on the move!  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, AMEN!

Only Medicare pays for it in MS. Medicaid does not cover it at this time. So you woud be responsible for 20% of balance.

so were you on only full liquids for 2 months following your surgery too?  I have tried blending different soups but guess I really should not being doing that either since I am not in the pureed stage yet.  I have not lost any more weight while in this phase. I am not sure if it because my body starved for so long on the liquids that is now holding on to everything I take in or if I am doing something wrong. My typical diet is slim fast for breakfast and lunch, an occ yogurt in between, and broth/soup, occ mashed sweet potaotes for supper . It is so frustrating to have lost so much in beginning and then have it come to complete stop now.

Topic: Birth story finally. lol lol
Well we showed up at the hospital 5:30 a.m. Friday October 26th and they started drip at 6:30.  At 11 the baby had not dropped at all so my dr stopped the drip and we decided to go ahead with c-section.  He did not want me to go through much stress cause of my age and plus my labor pains were making the baby's heart rate drop too much.  so at 1:30 I was taken back for the c-section and at 3:10 p.m. on October 26th my BEAUTIFUL baby girl.  She was 6 lbs 12 oz and 20 inches long.  You might remember that we did not find out the sex and during the c-section no one would tell us what she was.  I finally yelled out after they were ooing and awwing over her "what is my baby?"  lol lol  and everyone at the same time yelled out it's a girl.  This is only the second girl in 5 generations on my husbands side so needless to say we were shocked and excited!!!!! Today she is currently 10 1/2 weeks old and weighs 11 lbs and is 23 inches long.  We had shots yesterday and she came through with flying colors.  I had to go back to work today so that sucked but luckly my mil is keeping her half the week and my mom and dad are keeing her the other half so I dont really have a thing to worrry about there.    Oh yeah we named her Janielyn Pigott.  No middle name which really threw some people off but I am sure she can go through life with out having a middle name.  lol lol  Also we were able to breast feed for 5 weeks and due to an illness I had after the c-section the meds they gave me dried up most my milk.  But I am truly thankful that I got to nurse her that long.  Also she has done wonderful on formula.  She has only spit up 3 times since day of birth until now.  And burps like a champ.  Embarresses me during church.  lol lol  I wish everyone the best and hope that everyone is doing great.  I will check in and see how everyone is doing as I can.  Who ever said a baby changes your life sure did not lie.  And trust you me after we tried for 10 years to have one that gave us plenty of time to become selfish with out time so we have had to make major adjustments but it has been worth every single moment.  In fact since I just turned 40 in dec we are already discussing number 2.  I just dont want to wait too long you know.  esp since it took so long to get her here and not knowing even if I can have another.  So I think by summer we might just try again and see what happens.  Oh well stay well everyone! Love ya Denise

Hi, Ahh this post brings back memories.  I remember marking the days down on my calander till it was time to progress to the next food stage.  Trust me when you follow the prolonged restrictive diet the results are priceless.  I remember your anguish and remember doing the exact same thing you did.  I can only offer words of encouragement to stay the course and fight the good fight because the results are wonderful.  When you do progress to pureed veggies.. try Lima Beans blended.  I'm not sure if your a bean fan but during this stage your taste buds are at its best and that got me through a many a day.  Towards your mashed potatoes.. add some flavors to it.. like chicken broth, maybe a little sprinkle of melted cheese. I'm with the majority on this one blend blend blend.  Good Luck!

If I'm not mistaken, Medicaid does not pay for WLS in Mississippi.  However, I could be wrong about that so we'll see if somebody else replies.  The State insurance sure won't pay for it.  Good luck. Marcia

I like your new hair cut.  I just got mine cut off really short too, and I have gone back to light brown for the color.  So, I need to put up a new picture. Melissa
