Hi everyone:
An update........
I haven't weighed since December sometime...thought I was seriously at a plateau, although I wanted to lose 10 more pounds to reach my 160 pound goal. Had my lab work done early last week and went to doctor this morning to find that I weight ............. drum roll, please.......160.3!!!!!! (That was with my clothing on, so I'm sure it's 160 even or perhaps a little less).
Which begs the question: Am I done? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I'll never be done. I'll still exercise (loving, absolutely LOVING Zumba these days). I'll always eat protein first and will never drink with a meal. I'll always avoid grazing. There are hundreds of do's and dont's I'll follow forever. So, in short, no, not done, still a work in progress.
Skin: I have plenty, need some? I don't know about surgery....not making any decisions at this time. I've not had any infections, and I wear layers of under armour stuff, mainly because I am always freezing, but also just for that polished look.
Bloodwork: All within normal limits. Did have a Vitamin D deficiency earlier, back in the monsoon season, but I suspect everyone was a little deficient at that time, RNY or not! It's all good now.
The ONLY regret I have is the most common....why did I not do this sooner???? Because I was under the misconception that it was "the easy way out." I did all the other things we do, Weigh****chers, Atkins, etc....but the smartest thing I ever did was by far not the easiest....this is NOT an easy road to hoe, but I now have this wonderful tool that will keep me honest, and with the skills and practicum I've learned, I can continue to be healthy and HAPPY.
Thanks you my weight loss friends for all the encouragement and support!
I had the Gastric Sleeve on Dec. 21st, 09...I have lost 44 pounds to date...
I have had no problems what-so-ever...The only thing I struggle with is drinking just plain water...I was a huge water drinker before surgery, but now, I find myself getting most of my fluids in by drinking hot cf teas...and cf coffee...
I love my sleeve and would do it over in a heart beat...!!!
Just wanted to share with my MS. family.......my success...!!!
Blessings to you ALL...

The food stuck issue sucks big time. I usually had that happen with eggs, chicken, or beef. And even though I am 6 years out, it still happens occasionally when I eat too fast and don't chew well enough. Most of the time you just have to wait it out and eventually it will go down. But, if it doesn't you can put some meat tenderizer in some warm water and sip it. The meat tenderizer will break it down and it will pass through. It doesn't taste too good but it does work. Remember to eat really small bites, chew it well, and eat really slow between bites.
I just wanted to say hang in there. It does get better. Those first few weeks are tough. I am over six years out now. It is hard to believe. Time flies by it seems. I can eat pretty much anything in moderation of course. You will eat steak again one day. We had steaks the other night. I just have to make sure mine is really tender even at 6 years out and chew it up really, really well. I had shrimp on Sunday at my parents house. Again, I can eat the shrimp I just have to make sure to eat slowly and chew them really well. Good luck on your journey.
Thanks
