Hi, how often does your support group meet and when?  Doesn't look like anyone wants the one in Meridian to start back up so we may have to travel down to yours. :-)  Thank you!

Tara, I recommend Dr. Walker Byars in Oxford, MS.  He performs Gastric Bypass and LapBand as well as being a general surgeon.  He is wonderful and has a terrific office staff.    His phone #662-234-3303.   If I can be of assistance please let me know. Thanks, Michelle

Topic: Support Group In/Around Meridian

Hello. I was wondering if there is still a support group meeting in Meridian.  A friend of mine said that it had been cancelled permanently??  Does anyone know if this is true??  If it is true, is anyone interested in getting this going again?  I work with two women on base here that would love to attend so there's 3 already. lol  Please let me know.  Happy Easter!!

That would be great! I am 3 years post op and still need the support. I am also 7 months post op from plastics. April you look amazing like a new person. You are doing great!!! I know what it is like not having the support. I had my surgery 2 weeks before Katrinia and there wasnt a support group in Colorado where we moved. If it hadnt been for this board I would have been lost. I have been haning out on the plastics board for my support as of late. Hope to see everyone soon. I am working mostly nights but will do what I can to be at the meetings.  Amy

Topic: RE: my hair is falling out
Hi,    I had WLS in 05' and can tell you hair loss is NORMAL! It will come back, promise :) I take Omega 3 fish oil as well as Biotin. Works well for me ... also try and avoid washing your hair daily as the oils are good for hair retention (my stylist filled me in on this one.) My hair is normal again after much panicking over losing so much in the beginning. Don't worry, it'll come back!! Kim

Hi Melissa!  I haven't found out anything yet. My appointment with the hematologist is next Tuesday, the 25th. I guess I will know more then. I am worried about it because it could be anything from the platelets clumping up in the test tube to cancer....  :( Karine

I am going to do what I can =) I am feeling much better. Just had my last test done, so if this shows nothing, then I am not sure where we go from there. Probably just rack it up to the flu virus getting into my nuero-muscuar system. Thanks for asking =)
