Yes, they put it in my neck because I had to stay laying back most of the day after words and i was scared to death when they placed it in my neck...I have a friend that they put hers in her leg..i wish mine had of been put in my leg.

Hey yall! I had my RNY on December 30th of this last year 2009. Seven months down and I am at 78lbs lost. Was looking to see if there is anyone on here from the Gulf Coast area who has been through this or just starting to be a support system for each other.

Topic: Vena Cava Filter
I am wondering if anyone that has the Vena Cava Filter in their neck has had any problems? I have noticed the past few days when I turn my neck a certain way or cough I will get some odd pain on the left side of my neck about where they went in to put the filter. I am just wondering if it might be that or something else that is making it hurt like that. Any info would be great. Oh and by the way I had it put in 2 years ago before I had my gastric bypass.

Hey there!! I had my sugery the end of December too! I started at 245.5 and am now at 167.8........seven month post-op and down 77.7lbs as of today! Sounds like my lucky day!! LOL
I am now 32.8lbs away from my goal weight and so happy with how far I have come! Congrats to you and glad to chat with other Mississippi Girls!! :) I am from the Mississippi Gulf Coast! :)

chew everything well, it has happened to me with hard boiled eggs. you can take papaya enzyme pills, it helps you digest stuck foods. just chew a couple of them up and they help digest stuck food particles. They taste ok and you can get them at several health food stores. If you are in California you can get them at Trader Joes.
