Yes, girl, he got to go home.  And he feels so much better already.  And when I talked to him on the phone I could tell a difference.  He had been having this breathless sound on the phone, and now he sounds like his old self.  Amazing!  Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

Just from reading the boards and speaking to other WLS people, Medicare / Medicaid also requires 6 months of doctor supervised dieting to show them that you can abide by the new dietary restrictions once you have the surgery. Ask your weight loss doctor for a form that you can give your family doctor showing your family doctor what he needs to document on your monthly visits for the next 6 months. He is supposed to document that he weighed you, spoke to you about behavior modifications, portion controls, etc. If you start this now, by the time you meet with your doctor in January that huge step will already be done.

Just a suggestion,
Tammy

I met ( the Queen ) in Sams about 2 years ago and she told me about MS WLS.   She is really a person that you can't forget.  She has so much energy when she tells her story and telling me to consider the surgery. I began talking to my doctor a LONG time ago and he told me  no way.  I don't know who the patient was, but the women went in for a visit and had lost  100 pounds. He then approved  me.
Now I can't find a doctor to take Medicare and Medicaid,  We found 1, but  the appointment can't be made till 1-09.  Then I would  go in a class that may be another 6 months before surgery,
Today we have called about Medicare and us paying the co payment.  No luck.
Is there a doctor you know of that might help me ?

Melissa, that is great news about your Dad! I hope everything continues to go well for him. My mom doesn't have diabetes but she is definitely one that gets blood clots very easily!  I'll be keeping you, your Dad and the rest of the family in my thoughts. Keep us posted on things today and tomorrow...

My Dad's procedure went well this morning.  He went in the hospital yesterday at 6:00 a.m. to start the process of getting his blood the right consistency for the heart cath.  By this morning it was a good number so they went in and ballooned and stinted the blockage on the left side of his heart.  He is now in recovery and will hopefully get to go home tomorrow if his bloodwork comes back okay.  He is high risk for any type of procedure because of his circulatory problems from his diabetes.  He has clots pretty bad.  So, we are thankful that everything went smoothly.  Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.
