Hello!
Hello everyone... I am new to the board. I am considering having surgery, as I am attending a seminar on this Thursday in hopes that I can obtain all the answers to questions I have about it. I am intending on seeing Dr. Kenneth Cleveland in Jackson,MS.
Only problem is, is I only have Mississippi Medicaid. I would like to talk to anyone here that had the surgery and was covered through Medicaid.
I have been reading alot of the posts here and have learned ALOT from you guys! I feel really comfortable here just by listening... I feel like this is a place that I can be myself and face this weight problem... as well as get over it once and for all!
I have been obese my entire life (am 34 yrs old now). I have reached a point over the past few months where I absolutely have nothing about myself that I like. Everytime I think about it I break out in tears... I guess that is how deep the pain goes now, the pain of feeling trapped in this body.
I look forward to getting to know you all here.
So I just wanted to say HI to you all!!

Hi Kimmy,
I am also new to all of this! I am waiting on insurance approval and I hope to hear something real soon. You hang in there and go to that seminar. I went to one put on by Dr King and Dr Byars in Oxford and I learned a lot.
I wish I knew more about Medicaid to tell you. My son is 26 and he had to have hip replacement surgery and Medicaid paid for it all. Good Luck!

Thank you all for your replies! It is so comforting to meet people here that are on the same road that I am planning to take. I have been reading for several days now on the surgery and stuff and have been doing alot of reflecting as to why I am considering it. Any fears seem to be calmed each time I log into the site and read what you all have to say! It sticks in my mind now... and each time I go into public and get that uncomfortable feeling, I think to myself how I am on the way to doing something about it. Thank you all! You are definately a god send!

Hey Kimmy,
I live up near the reservior! Wanna go fishing???
I don't know what insurances Dr. Cleveland takes, but I do know that UMC and the Covington group take medicare. I had mine at Keesler with Tricare (hubby is retired military!)
Welcome to the family. If I can do anything to help, lemme know. And come back often and post long!
