Have to start over from scratch ....

I had my hopes up when I contacted Tricare earlier this month was told by apparently a NEW employee that lap band surgery WAS covered.... welllllllll I just got off the phone with Tricare South ...guess what? The only lap band surgery covered is V-band gastroplasty. I am not sure if any hospital in Jackson does the procedure but after checking with the North Medical Center in Oxford, Becky told me they do not do that particular procedure. Now... I have to really do some seeking, prayering, resource, etc. regarding WLS ...

Best of luck!! Tricare is my insurance too but since I was willing to do Lap RNY, I had no problems with them. Keep your faith and do what you feel is best for you and your life. Rhonda

Rhonda, What is a lap RNY??? I'm still learning... we have tricare standard and switching to tricare prime ... I am considering re-thinking my situation and may go for the RNY... Thanks and God bless for your reply, Wanda
