Hello Everybody!
It has been a long time since I have posted on the forum. Didnt fall off the face of the earth but got lost in reconstructing a flooded house in New Orleans post Katrina. It has been a huge project and one I do not want to do again!!!!!!!!!! Ever!!!!!!!!!!!
I am three years out now, my surgery date was June 29, 2005 Just before the big K! Horrible year...
I have stabilized my weight at 150 although I did drop down to 135 for a while, but I felt too nervous and looked awful! I havent had any problems with my gastric at all. I can eat most things, although sometimes I go into a restaurant and order and by the time it hits the table, I just cannot eat it. But hub and I just pack it up and take it home for another day.... We also now order an entree between the two of us and an extra salad and drink. We still have food left over cause portions are so large!
I see so many new people on the board. Good luck to you all in your journey, it is not an easy one but so worth it. I feel healthy, my legs do not hurt, I can climb stairs without feeling like I am gonna pass out, and have much more energy. My only regret is that I did not do it sooner. Even if you have to borrow to have the surgery, do it. I like to joke and say that my Mercedes is with me, It was my surgery instead of a new car..... I am still riding in my 93 Tercel! LOL!!!! But it is sooooo worth it!!!
Love to hear from you all, I am still teaching although hoping to be teaching in MS next year instead of this place I am working now....The system down here is sooooo broken and not worth it.
Smiles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Cheryl! It is so good to see your smiling face on the board again! I haven't posted like I should, I just stay so busy! I never stay home anymore - always running here and there! I will cross my fingers about you getting the teaching job in MS next year, it would be great to see you again!

Hey Cheryl!
I am a newbie too! It's good to hear how people are doing 1, 2, 3 and more years out. I have such hope for my future! I am 37 and have been overweight for around 15 years. What a WASTE of my time! I'm taking it back....starting October 24th! Good luck on the teaching job! Look forward to seeing you around.
