I'm really good, never hungry.  I'm eating 30cc of soft food 3 times a day, concerned about the low level of protein at this stage, but doing okay.  We took before photos last weekend....ugh, not a pretty site.

When I was early out, I ate toca bell refried beans w/cheese, no red sauce. It was my go to food. I also ate cottage cheese a lot. Both are good sources of protein. You will get it in tme. try a water base protein shake. There is a good protein powder (Aria) that is mixed with water. Good luck and congrats!!!!!

I really thought I had a good grasp on my diet post op, but I'm confused all of a sudden.  I think these first two weeks I am on soft foods, potatoes, cream soups, eggs, cheese grits, etc. and I shouldn't be concerned about protein.  When I go back to the doctor on Oct 3, next Friday, he will put me on blenderized foods and I can begin to count protein.  While I'm healing and  eating 30cc (the medicine cup) full, there is no way to count protein, cuz basically I'm not getting any.  I tried the 3 ounce 47 gram of bullet protein made by NewWhey and really liked it, but basically it made me feel way to full for a long time, painfully so.  I'm thinking I shouldn't be concerned so much about protein at this stage.  Do you guys think that's right?  My doctor has said no eating between meals, eat 30 cc of mashed potatoes, cream soups, etc, and I'm rationalizing that this is for my pouch to heal.  I'm getting 48 oz of fluids in and I'm walking like crazy on my new treadmill.  I'm taking my vitamins and calcium citrate.  I'm down 15 lbs in one week.  I don't feel bad or sluggish or even very sore anymore.  Do you all think I'm doing things right?

You are right, soft foods are to allow the pouch time to heal. There is a lot of swelling for a few weeks and things tend to stick easily. I wouldn't be too concerned with the amount of protein right now.  However,  I would try to get it in every chance I got. It is important to healing, losing weight and prevents hair loss. You are doing SUPER great witht e waater. 48 oz WOW!!!!! Keep up th egood work!
