Hope eveyone is enjoying a good cup of coffee this morning. Anyone is sticker shock over gass prices? I hav en ot been out this mornign so I do not know if it has gone up here. Last night after the game when we came back through town going home, the prices were the same as they had been all day. $3.69  Our gas prices went up 10 cents Thursday but other than that, they have stayed the same, so far. I had to go to the doctor yesterday (Friday) and it is however another story in Tupelo. There is a gas station across the street form my doctors office. The gas prices just about 2 -3 miles down the road were the regular $3.67. Across the street from the office, they were $4.14. I mentioned the carzy price across the street to the rn and she said at 12:30, the price was $3.57 (this was 2:30!!). She also said that someone had called the attorney genral about it...teehee could hae been her, she was HOT about it. Any who, when I left at 5:30 ( I had a lot of stuff done plus they were behind) the price had gone down to $3.75.  The gril who did my mamogram had the radio on in her part of the office Attorney general, Jim Hood was on saying if you feel you are paying too much for your gas, if you think the pump may not be accurate, or if see outragiuos pricing on sign to save reciepts, make photos with your cell phones and contact his office (he was giving out the number). he went on to say that price gouging would not be tolerated and people caught do it would be prosecuted. He said that he was not going to allow Mississippians to be taken advantage of in the wake of the storm.  Anywhoo, I hope you all have a good restful weekend!

We had a similar morning. When my husband went in to pre-pay for the $3.57 a gallon at the Jr Food Mart, the clerk received a call instructing her to up the gas to $4.38 a gallon. EIGHTY CENTS A GALLON! So I sent a text message to my State Representative Toby Barker. Toby called the Attorney General's office and this gas station will get a very special site inspection and they will be required to show their paperwork on raising their prices. :-)

Morning Southernmiss,

When we finally go tout yesterday morning, gas had gone up 60 cents per gallon at all stations up town and all stations but 1 had their pumps covered. My dh got some gas to mow the yard and the lady in the gas station told him if he needed gas better get it, didn't know how much they have and it will be going up by another 60 cents over night!!  At a station 2 miles down the roads, gas was still $3.89 and he did not have his pumps covered. I called my son and he went up there and dilled up. My hubby went there and finished filling up (he had only got 1/2 a tank the day before but wasn't going to pay the price at the first station). Anyway I went to red Bay (about 5 miles away) and gas was $.29. I stopped at the little station mentioned above and filled up (I only had to get 10.00 worth). I work in home care and we never know when we will b ecalled out or how far we will have to go. Anyway, at this point this station had started rationing due to it being the only station in town with gas. You could only get 10 gallons at a time because he wasn't sure when he is going to be able to get another delivery. curious to see how much they have gone up on our way to church. And why raise the prices on a empty pump????
