Man I miss home. I was raised in Mississippi and lived there for over 25 years in the Tupelo, Aberdeen, Amory area and I miss the south so much. You may have guessed by my name I live in Indiana now. I miss the southern hospitality and the food too:)... My mom and 3 of my brothers still live down there so I get to come visit every once in a while but not near enough...Hopefully by next April's Amory Railroad Festival I will be down 100 pounds or so..So anyway I just wanted to say mornin to all my Mississippi folks, and watch out for those crazy hurricane's!  Later & Y'all take care now..

Evening Joe!!

I live in Belmont, about 1 hour from Amory. The company I work for has a office in AMory and I go there on a pretty regular basis! Nothing like good ol Mississippi folks!!! Maybe you will get to make it to the Railroad Festival. Our company (Heart to Heart Hospice) always has a booth set up there. Would be neat to meet you. In the mean time, I'm sending you pinto bean and cornbread wishes...lol!!!

Good morning Joe, I am a Lap Bander and new to the MS site on OH . Old timer to the main OH website. Read my past MS postings. I was soooo happy to find this home site. I live in Amory. I love it here. My DH (65) grew up in Aberdeen.  He remembers it as the best place to have grown up in in the World. It is not that way today though.
We lived in New Orleans on the West bank for 24 years until 10 years ago.  Bought 50 acres here in Amory just off of Hwy.  278 East, 4 miles from the Wal-Mart.   I did not want to move back here. Now I could never / ever move from here. I love our church, Meadowood Baptist and our church friends. God knew what was best for me.  You just can control the Holy Spirit, lol
I will send you Catfish wishes and hush puppy blessings from The Pickle Barrell!  lol

Pickle Barrell! Now were talkin! Lets see 4 miles east of WalMart, you must be pretty close to the little gas station there by Mr. Michel's farm..I think there is a car lot there now where Strickland buildings used to be. My Brother lives there on Hatley rd..You look so familiar too...I would ask what your last name is but you may not want to display that on the Internet..you could PM it to me though. I'm sure we know alot of the same people..pretty cool to live this far away and hear from a home town gal...Take care..and maybe I'll see you at the RR fest in April after Ive lost a couple hundred pounds..:) ......Joe Hodges

Hi From Hamilton, MS. You probably must feel about MS like I do about  Florida!!! I have to say though that I actually will miss this place when it is time for us to move.  I have found this area to be very laid back and I like the fact that I can be driving down the road or out in my yard and total strangers will wave or say hello.  The the best neighbor I have ever had anywhere is right here next to me. I like the fact that this is a rural area. When my son first moved here he told the next door neighbor, I like this place because I have never had gravel for a driveway.  The first few days he was riding his bike and skidding in the gravel and I warned him but he didn't listen so a few days later I was picking gravel out of his knees!! My son who is 10 really likes it here. I laugh at people who say Florida is too hot, I say come to MS and try living here in July and August!!!!

Our daughter married a guy from up that way (Rienze/Corinth). (GLIDEWELL)
We live on the gulfcoast, they went to college together @ Ms State.
They live in a rural area, cattle, chickens, etc, My daughter seems to like it,
it is quit different from the coast area.  She was raised on ranch and loves
the out doors.

We can always depend on them for supplies after a hurricane!! The came to our
rescue after Katrina.

Great Kids
Pam
