Football season gets in high gear in our hometown tonight!!! Wooohooo!! I love me some high school football. However, tonight is going to be bitter sweet. This will be the first season in 7 years my son will not be walking onto a football field..... He played 4 years of varsity, 2 years of jv and 1 year prio to that in a junior league. He graduated high scholl this past May and is too small to play college ball. He only ways 140lbs at present. He was bigger than that during the season but has lost weight this summer. I am sure momma will get a lump in her throat when the team takes the field and my baby isn't out there. . Oh well, at last this year, I do not have to wrry about injuries, which we seemed to have our shareof the past two years. I am putting my happy face on and going to cheer on my team......Go Big Red!!!

Phyllis, I love football period.  My nephew is now playing at East Mississippi Community College and it's a delight to watch him and his team.  I know all about those lumps, had a few moments like that myself!  My sister and I used to laugh and say we were "all padded up" for the games....(padded up so as not to wet our pants). ugh.....

My husband and I are University of Alabama fans, season ticket holders and we travel to the away games too (in as much as we can).  I love SEC football.  I love high school football.  I love the New Orleans Saints....and I love tailgaiting too.  We've talked about how I will have to plan for myself at the tailgaits....doing anything for myself is not normal, ya know?

Glad
