Problems with Pancakes

This how my morning started out today. . .   My teenage daughter decided this morning, about 20 minutes before the school bus showed up, that she wanted pancakes. I have some pancake mix that all you do is add water. So I got the griddle preheated with some non-stick spray on it. I went to put a dash of DaVinci's SF kalua flavored syrup for some variety. But I was in such a hurry, that the dash was actually about 2 tablespoons.   I decided to try and go ahead and make the best of it. So I made little 4" pancakes. I was going to be eating healthy and so was my daughter, even though she didn't realize it. The pancakes browned very nicely. I went ahead and turned them over, while fixing my snacks and lunch for the day. The pancakes were done and we had a few minutes to spare. So I put a few pancakes on my daughter's plate and she scooted off to the couch to watch tv while scarfing down her breakfast.   I was still packing my lunch bag and my Curves bag, so I picked up a pancake with my hand, took a bite, and swallowed after only chewing the large piece maybe 5 or 6 bites. YEEEE-OWWWW! I felt like I tried to swallow the lid off the gallon milk jug. Let me say - I now know exactly where my Lap Band is because that piece of pancake found it and went through, but left me a nice little sore reminder to NEVER MULTI-TASK WHILE EATING!   I was so ticked I threw out the rest of the pancakes because I didn't want to risk any damage. And even though I didn't wait until 45 minutes after I ate the piece of pancake, I immediately put a sip of sweet tea in my mouth and let the tea gently slide down my throat to my stomach. WOW! I was so ticked off about my mistake that I just ended up skipping breakfast and only drank water until lunch time.   Feeling much better now after slurping up some smooth soup for lunch, Tammy

Ouch I imagine that did hurt.  Of course having had rny I could not eat bread, well other than saltines, gosh maybe until like my 2-3 month out.  And then if I did not chew it up to mush I would throw it up. lol lol  Had a horrible something like that happen right in the middle of mcalisters and hell I was 5 months out then  trying to eat one of their roll ups.  lol lol  I was soooooooooo embarresed.  Dont worry about taking the sip that is totally understandable but maybe try and watch that sweet tea.  Just because of the sugar you know.  Of course I know it was just a sip but might as well cut all those bad habits out now while it is easier you know.  I was also a sweet tea drinker and just switched to unsweet tea.  Mainley cause i just can not stand any of the sweetners out there.  Heck now I can NOT stomach sweet tea.  And if I do drink it I have it like half sweet tea and fill it the rest of the way with lemon juice.  lol lol  I am glad u are feeling better!
Take care
