Dr. William Avara.  I just want to know your experiences and anything you would like to share.  Thanks so much!! 

From what I have seen so far he is really nice and believes obesity is a disease. He is very smart and supposedly real good with his hands. I've heard he was a musician. That' s always a plus.

I am from Monroeville, Alabama.  I graduated from Monroe Academy in 1991 and when I finished college in Montgomery we moved to Mississippi.  We have been here ever since.  Just wanted to say hello.

Dr. Avara is the 2nd doctor I met with and he was exactly what I needed. Very personable, understanding, AWESOME support staff. He is more interested in you as a patient, than your pocketbook. His office hosts seminars on Saturdays that you can go to for free to find out more. And if you want to meet with him, it's $50 on that Saturday. Or his office also hosts support groups every month. There you will meet people who have had or will have both types of weight loss surgery. And those people will freely share their experiences with you.

I have him also and he is great and funny. His nurse are top notch. They are all very helpful and very nice. They treat you with respect which is hard to find in people when you are heavy,( I have found). Would not choose another doctor.
