I am now 5 days post-op and am having bloating issues due to not enough fiber in my diet. Milk of magnesia was required last night and I don't want to repeat that unless absolutely necessary.

So what are some good liquid or pureed forms of food that contains lots of fiber. I would prefer to stay away from taking a fiber supplement if possible. I want to learn to eat healthy foods that contain the right amount of fiber instead.

Tammy,
How are you going girl?  Other than these issues of course.  lol  I'm sorry I dont have any advice cause I did not have that prob.  lol lol  In fact I had the other prob for about 2 weeks after my surgery.  lol lol  Maybe a stool softner with lax in it?  Can you swallow pills?  I know I had a prob but then again I had the rny.  Apple juice is suppose to be good for that or maybe puree some apples without the skin.  ???? Just a few thoughts.  Hopefully someone else will post better advice.  I just wanted to let u know  I was thinking about you!

Thanks for the suggestion Denise. Maybe I can find some apple juice that is low in sugar. Other than the painful bloating over the weekend, I am doing amazingly well! I even went back to work 2 days post-op. I am so excited to begin this new chapter of my life. I have new energy, new focus, and I am starting to enjoy life a little bit more. I know this isn't the cure. I know this is just one small step, but it has really helped to motivate me in the rest of priorities. And for that, I give God all the glory and praise that he deserves and then some!

Look on the baby isle. I know the Gerber kinda I buy Janielyn is like 6grams of sugar but it is PURE Juice so even that sugar is not that actual bad kind like other juices has in it.  I am so proud for you!  Tell your hubby to hang on cause he is fixing to take a ride of his lifetime to.  He will be or is getting a new wife.  You will have more energy than you have EVER thought possible!

I will definitely look for that when I return to the store. It's on my shopping list now.
Thanks!

You could also add Benefiber to your water. It is clear and mixes well.

I ate the canned refried beans.  I added a little water and souped them up some so that they were legal for the pureed stage.  Beans have fiber.  Maybe you could try that.  I had the opposite issue first out from surgery.  Sorry you are having problems.

Thanks for the suggestion Melissa. I love Mexican food so I am sure I  won't have any more fiber issues.
