visiting in Biloxi for 1 week suggestions of must sees or do's that i might not think of
Hi,
I am a RNY post op 7 weeks out. Enjoying being on the losing side. We are here visiting our son and his wife and would like suggestions for activitives we should see or do to really get the Mississippi experience. Good places to eat especially seafood. Places to see and visit. Anything and everything that you might think of that would be enjoyable for a family.

Ever since the Mississippi coast got blasted by Hurricane Katrina, there just isn't as much to do or see anymore. Except for the casinos of course. The casinos do have some pretty good food. I am not on the coast, but maybe someone local will come on here and see your post and know of a really good place to get seafood that isn't at a casino. I hope you enjoy your visit to Mississippi.
Hi -
I'm on the coast and agree with the previous posters that there is less to do post-Katrina. The casinos are in Biloxi and can be nice to visit even if you don't gamble. The Beau Rivage has nice shops and great restaraunts. Also, Mary Mahoney's (across from Beau Rivage) is re-opened and doing well. Lookout 49 in Gulfport is also a great place to visit.
Enjoy your time on the coast,
Jen

you should at least stay one night. We only live once enjoy yourself. High Cotton Grill is a good place to eat. Food is way to much, so share with someone or take a doggie bag for a couple of more meals later. We stayed at the treasure bay casino. They make a fantastic omelet but it is so huge. We went to new orleans and visited the malls, zoo and aquarium had a very nice time but walked my legs off.

Most casino hotels are less costly on week days like mon-thur
Some of them cost less if you have a players card with them.
Verzels is a really nice res, great food, but I must say
they are alittle on the costly side.
The Steamer on highway 603, costly too, but they have lobster, crawfish
when in season, Red shrimp, flounder and other types of fish native to our
area, always have oysters too.
If you Like BBQ - the SHED is the best way to go!!!
The casinos on the buffet usually have KING CRAB legs - wonderful.
I am not sure if they have reopen the historical house their in Biloxi
lot of civil war stuff - hwy 90 beach.
There are also some good golf courses, if you do that kind of thing.
Casinos also have different shows going on - concerts by well know
singers. Might want to ck ahead for tickets.
Hope ya'll have a great time, CHAMBER OF JACKSON COUNTY
can also give you some great ideals.

PS the casino's buffets are usually less costly during lunch or some
of them have specials for different nights. I know Hollywood in Bay
St. Louis their Buffet is less costly on Wednesdays and if you have
their players card you get even a better price - just go by the customer
service desk and ask them for a players card -easy. Before you
go up to eat.
