Hi everyone!!  I am 6 months post op Lap Band.  I am having the most difficulty eating things.  I chew, chew, chew..etc.  But after several bites, it gets stuck.  So, in 20 mins, I wanna eat again.  I need some diet ideas.  I work in the ER as a RN at night.  So, I have little time to eat.  My clinician suggested Lunchables...but they are getting stuck as well.  I am not drinking with my meals or 1 hours after.  (matter of fact, after this last adjustment, I had to have IV fluids from not drinking, BAD I KNOW.  But I am sip, sip, sipping!)  I have a 9 month old that I stay at home with except the two (2) nights a week that I work.  So, my life is exciting and controlled.  I have a hubby who is skinny and eats 4 meals a day.  So, I have to stay up on my cooking game.  But I don't like many proteins--I don't eat steak, roast, hamburger meat much, or ham.  But the chicken and turkey that I will eat is dry and white meat  Otherwise I will not eat it.  Any IDEAS??  I eat seafood tons!!!!!  Please help!

Toni... Hi...hope that you can get this solved...and I know you will... first I am out getting close to 3 years...and I still love my band... one of my favorite things is very easy to make and easy to eat...high in protein and filling... I mix tuna and cream cheese...(a friend that had the RnY told me about it...and now I am hooked) it is so much better than tuna and mayo...I usually eat it with a few ritz crackers... the other thing that comes to mind...do you think you have first bite sydrome??? try drinking something warm right before eating...(coffee, tea, broth) just a few sips...it helps to open up the stoma...I hope this helps...and if you have any other questions...just let me know..
Blessings...Debbi
