Hello, I am one week out of RNY lap bipass surgery.  I don't really like the beneprotein powder they sent me home with.  I am looking for a new protein or some other way to get that in.  Where in Jackson is the best place to go to find drinks, etc that will let you try it before you buy it?  Also what is the best chewable calcium citrate and chewable vitamins?   I am still on full liquids and ready for the mushy food, or at least something I can chew.  Hope everyone has a great Christmas!!  Please post your opinions please.  I'm home jus****ching tv and being on the computer, so I'll be watching. Thanks all, Theresa

I drank Isopure when I first came home. It can be found at GNC. It is not really good but tolerable. It comes in fruit flavors and is water based.  I also drank advantedge. It somes in chocolate and vanilla. Get it really cold over ice and it is pretty good. I now make my own using Designer Whey powder. It is better to me than any premixed protein drink I have tried. It can be found at most health food stores and comes in a wide variety of flavors. Vanilla Praline is my fave! I came home from the hospital on chewable prenatal vitamins prescribed by my surgeon. I now take flintstones chewables.  I just buy cal-trate. Can be found at walmart. Hope you can find a protein drink you like. Best of Lucka nd Congrats on you surgery!

Hey Theresa! Glad surgery went well and you are doing fine, I am so sorry I didn't make it to the hospital to see you... things have just been crazy around here plus trying to get ready for vacation!  I don't think I will ever get any time for my friends and myself again!  These kids are driving me crazy - always something going on or last minute projects popping up! I didn't like the beneprotein either... I ordered the unflavored Unjury and could not tolerate it.  Tried going to the GNC store and trying other powders from there but it just seemed like all the powders would make me sick!  I had a very hard time getting the amounts of protein I needed and you could see it in all the hair I lost!  Dr. Cleveland warned me if I didn't start getting my protein in somehow, I would start looking like Sinead O'Connor and he was so right! lol I hope you can find something soon that will work for you!  Sorry I am not much help, just wanted to say HI!  Keep me posted on how you are doing.....

I tried several but the one I like the best was Unjury unflavored. I put it in my coffee and can't even tell its there. You can order it online at Unjury.com.  Hope this helps. It has 20 gr protein Sundra

hello, i am 2 moths post open rny  and have tried unjury...its ok...but what works best for me are the NO SUGAR ADDED CARNATION INSTANT BREAKFASTS and then add 1/3 cup of instant non fat dried milk powder to it....1 cup of skim milk=8 grams protein ....1 pack carn instanty brkfast =5gm....and 1/3 cup instant milk =10 gms  FOR A TOTAL OF 23 grams of protein it is knda of hard to find the NOSUGAR ADDED CARNATION BUT you can order it from their website.  they have chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.   you have to be creative ....I may add a 1/2 scoop of unjury to the batch and some sugar free chocalte syrup  good luck
