voc rehab
I checked with Voc. Rehab prior to have WLS. There are several qualifications for RNY. My husband ended up changing jobs and his insurance paid for my WLS, so I did not go thrugh them. The lady I dealt with was real nice. She told me what all I needed to qualify etc and that at the time, there was a 2 year waiting list within the state but you could go out of state and have it done right away. Only thing, out of state docs do not accept what Voc. Rehab pays as full payment. Instate doc's do. Sorry I am really no help here. Have you spoken with a Voc. Rehab rep?

I will look through my old stuff and see if I can find the number for the one here. If so, I will call and try to get a number for your area. All I did was tell them that I was interested in WLS and that (at that time) my insurance did not cover WLS. The lady was real nice and made me an appointment. At the appointment, she told me their requirements etc.

I tried Voc. Rehab back when I was interested in having surgery in 2002-2003. I got denied because it was not work related and eventually tried again in 2005 I believe and I was told Voc. Rehab was no longer paying for WLS.
I have BCBS of MS - State Network and they won't even touch WLS of any kind.
I gave up on all them and paid for surgery out of pocket in July 2006.
