Post-op Back Pain???
I've been having a lot of back pain that I've never had before.. That was the one thing that I complained about after my surgery and it has continued.. I know early post-op that is has to do with positioning during surgery, but 3 months out it still hurts on a daily basis.. Also my left knee hurts a lot too. It's like a throbbing pain that last for like 15-20minutes then stops.. Before I had knee pain after standing for long periods, but now it's like out of no where it will just start hurting.. The knee pain I can deal with cause it doesn't happen all the time, but my back hurts everyday. I'm going to ask Dr. Dolan about it, but I really don't know what can be done.. I thought taking weight off was supposed to help with back & joint pain not make it worse.. Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me?
Girl, there is nothing like back pain. I had some back pain several months after my surgery and some numbness going down my right leg into the first two toes. I finally had to see a chiropractor, and he said I was 3/4 inch out of alignment and had a nerve pinched. He said I got out of alignment due to the rapid weight loss and my body didn't have time to adjust. I had several weeks worth of visits all covered by insurance, and the pain and numbness went away. My regular doctor had tried medicines and when that didn't work I went to a chiropractor and that helped. Good luck.

Hi April! I had back pain as well after surgery that radiated to my breasts area and into my ribs. Come to find out, I had an ulcer. They will cause back pain and mine was mainly the upper back. They found this out by doing an EGD. The doctor started me on Nexium and it was all good. It helped a bunch and no more pain.
