Lorrie E update
Well, I did make it by the hospital, and I actually got to speak to Lorrie's mom. The accident happened before midnight on Saturday night. She and her son had been to the coast and been shopping and to the parades. They don't know what happened and probably won't until Lorrie regains consciousness and can tell them. She has not regained consciousness and is still on a ventilator. She does not directly know that her son has died, but they believe she knows. Every now and then a tear will roll down her face. She has squeezed her mom's hand.
I told her mom to please let her know that her obesity help family is praying for her. I picked up a really beautiful cross and sympathy card and left it for her with her mom.
Funeral services for Lorries little boy will be tomorrow at 10:00. They plan to have a second memorial service once Lorrie recovers. There was just no way to postpone burial. Lorrie may have months of recovery ahead of her. Please continue to pray for Lorrie as her mother feels she will blame herself because it was a one car accident and it appears that Lorrie fell asleep at the wheel or maybe a deer ran out in front of her or something. Like I said, they really don't know and won't until she can tell them. I will continue to pray for both emotional and physical healing for Lorrie. I will update soon. I will call her mother periodically to check on her progress.

OMG!!! I'm so very sorry to hear about Lorrie and the death of her son. My prayers are with her and the family. I met Lorrie when we attended a training session / support group meeting at Dr. Avara's office before our surgery. Her surgery was about a week after mine. We talked on the phone a few times and emailed occasionally, but I hadn't heard from her in a while. She was so excited that her weight loss meant she could do more stuff with her son. I remember just the two of them went on a camping trip during spring break and then they all went to Disney World.
