What are you thankful for?

I know so many people right now who are sick or struggling with some tough problems.  And, of course, if you watch the news every day you see horrible acts of violence happening everywhere.  And it is so easy to get wrapped up in what is going on in our own little immediate area that we think we have it rough until we see or meet someone is going through worse things.   So, in trying to be positive and start the day off right I thought we could share some good things that we should be thankful for.  I have been a little stressed with work and such lately that I forgot exactly how great I have it.  I am so thankful for my husband, children, family, and friends.  God has blessed me with some wonderful people in my life.  I am so very thankful for my health so that I can enjoy each and every day that God allows me to wake up and experience.  I have a good job and a nice home in a great town with a wonderful church family.  I am thankful for the rain we have had.  We needed it so badly.  And the trees and grass are looking so pretty and green now.  I could go on and on and on, but I will let you have a turn.  So, what are you thankful for today?

Hope everyone has a great day! Melissa

I am thankful for hubby, family, great friends this blessed gift God has granted me to carry for nine months which I might add I can not wait to hold.  lol lol  I thankful for myself and family's health and good fortune.  You are so right we all have such tendiences to dwell on the bad and all it takes is to turn the tv on and see that someone always has it worse than us! It won't be long and you will get to hold that little miracle you are carrying.  And it will be so sweet.  I know you just can't wait.  That little one will be so rotten.  LOL.

Girl this baby is already so rotten.  lol lol lol  I am already having contractions and I am just 32 1/2 weeks.  lol lol  Had to go back to dr today and was just there Monday.  He gave me a shot to stop the contractions and checked me.  My cervix is completly closed which is great for now.  lol lol  This baby just needs to hold off a few more weeks!!! Gosh, not too many people thankful out there today.  LOL.  I guess everyone is busy.  The board seems a little slow today.  But I know you are ever so thankful for that little one on the way.  You have waited so long.  And I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that he or she will hang in there a few more weeks before making a grand entrance.  Hang in there, girl.   I know you want him/her to wait a while longer---and hopefully s(he) will...but as a word, my sister's baby came 5 weeks early, and he was fine--no problems at all.  You're almost to the point of no return...where the baby will come out and do fine no matter what.  :)  just have your bags packed and ready to go. haha.  and everything set at home. (and you may be put on bedrest before you're ready!!!)  good luck, denise! mary

What an insightful post!  You're right--the news is so full of tragedy.  I was talking to my husband today about how awful the world is becoming.  He tends to be rather pessimistic, so he fed into my statements.  Thanks for reminding me that some of us need to remain optimistic so the world will keep going 'round! I'm thankful for my family.  I'm also thankful for my friends.  I'm blessed enough that I've had a good job and saved so I can stay home for a little while.  :)  and thankfully I work in a profession (nursing) where it won't be hard for me to find a job.  It may not be just what I want, but finding work isn't difficult. Most of all, I'm thankful to have a healthy child and husband.  My dad's illness and death last fall, my grandparents being ill and now I have a couple of good friends who have been diagnosed with cancer....it's so hard to remain peppy and happy....but I'm so very thankful that we have health.  There are some poor souls suffering right now. I need to thank God more and more for the blessings He's given me.
