Hi everyone, Well, Deann and I just left UMC visiting with LeGina. She is much better today. They have lowered her pain meds, as matter of fact she is getting just a mild sedative. She is groggy and weak but is following commands and trying to speak a little. It is hard for her to stay awake right now and she is still on the ventalator but will probably come off tomorrow. Her blood pressure is excellent and she has not had to have any more blood for 2 days now. That is a very big accomplishment. She also has no fever. She is having a little skin breakdown right now which is to be expected and she has alot of skin problems in the folds of skin but the nursing staff are on top of it. I have been in the medical field for 15+ years now and I am very impressed with the care she is getting. The staff are working very good with her. They fell in love with her like Deann and I did.  I talked to the manager at Wal Mart and he said he will give me a laptop for her at his cost. He will also try to do a little better than that too, but he said I have to pick out the computer 1st before he can give me an exact amount. I don't want anyone to get mad at me and 1st I am asking for prayers, that is most important but if anyone would like to contribute it would be greatly appreciated and some of you have contacted me about it so here is some information: you can send a donation to me for her by 2 ways: My paypal account is [email protected] or my address is

You can also send her a card to my address and I will be glad to take it to her. I told her ya'll were thinking about her and she smiled and said thank you. She has not been told about her husband or her laptop. We are hoping to replace the laptop as soon as possible. Please keep her in your prayers!

Ditto Tammy - I am SO VERY IMPRESSED  with her nurses there at USM !!  They are just angels with nursing licenses !!   I was so glad to see LeGina doing better than a few days ago, even with such a long way to go.  She has a very strong will, and I am going to pray that she just gets better and better, and does not lose hope and faith. If ANYBODY (from our area - ha ) can get by to see her, this week would be a wonderful time to do it - You can just pop in at 12:00 PM or 5:00 PM (or 9:00 am or pm) and just say hi and tell her who you are and where you are from.  Her family is so far away and not able to be with her.  For anyone who does not know yet, Tammy and I have been talking (along with some others who thought of this too) about replacing her lap top that was stolen.  It is her lifeline to the outside world.  I can assure you that, number 1, we will only give it to her when she is up, aware and can use it, and, number 2, the nurses can lock it up when she is sleeping and when she can have visitors, etc.  She is in ICU, so can only have visitors a few times a day for an hour at a time.  Lots of other's from other forums have asked Tammy if they could donate towards a new lap top, I think it is a WONDERFUL WONDERFUL idea to donate $5-$10 or whatever you have on your heart to help with this to Tammy's pay-pal account (or mail) - I will certainly tell you all that Tammy will be trying to get the best deal possible !  I think this is just the coolest idea ever to help someone in such dire need of our support. Love you guys (and gals) - DeAnna

I have been praying for Legina and looking for updates everyday.  I think it is wonderful that ya'll are able to visit her.  If I am not mistaken I thought she said that was her cousin's laptop and that her cousin let her borrow it for the hospital.  Maybe I have her mixed up with someone else.
