I am having my plastics
I am have a TT/BL with implants on Friday with Dr. Richardson. Tomorrow I go for my last visit before the procedurer, blood work and to pay all up front, Visit with the anthesia doctor and go thru last min. details. Like you, I am very nervous, but excited at the same time. I have had many firends in the last month to have the procedure. One by Dr. Richardson was within the last 2 weeks. I went to 3 different doctors. One in Slidell, Dr. Miller and Dr. Richardson and loved him the best. When I went to have the mammogram done, the tech said she has seen many of this procedures and said by far he was the best, especially when it came to the implants and going behind the muscle. I had a friends that just had implants with Mr. Miller and was not happy at all. I had only heard good things about him also. I was told the average recovery time was about 2 weeks and drains would be in untill at least the following Thursday. Everyone is different though. I just hope I turn out as fortunate as Mary with her procedure. He said my procedure is about 5 hours. I have been told to do the following and this is straight from a critical care nurse that lives next door from me. I am so lucky to have her, she will be taking care of me and those yucky drains the days following. That's the part that I truly do not like. 1. Mop your floors with bleach the night before or have someone do it right before you come home. This kills the germs. Lysol, Lysol and Lysol also. Do it on everything that you might touch. 2. Make sure you wear slippers or shoes at all times, when putting your feet on the floor. 3. Make sure those around you wash their hands as soon as they enter the house and before they touch you, keep the anti bacteria lotion around. 4. If you sleep in a recliner, do. Its will be very hard for us to get in and out of the bed. 5. Wear a zip up the front "moo moo" and flip flops the day of surgery. 6. Bath with Hepaclease the night before and until your openings completely heal. 7. Drink lots of liquids, this will get the anthesia (sp) out of your system and also helps prevent constipation along with getting up and walking around. 8. Do not rely on a walker, you have to remember to stand up straight, Chin up and shoulders out. If any of you have any others suggestions for us ladies, please share them. Good luck Amy. I will be thinking about you. Sharron
