Wow. hard to believe only one more day in July!!!  But this summer heat is killing me.  Actually, the humidity is so bad today that walking out side takes your breath away!  I haven't had so much trouble breathing in months... I know it's just the heat.  I'm secretly wishing summer away--but only for cooler temps! anyway...how'd ya do today?  Have a daily goal?  weekly goal?  I find that daily goals help me more than weekly ones.  Guess it goes back to the 'one day at a time' sort of thing.  Heck, some days it's a "one hour at the time" haha.  That's how I've been making myself follow all the rules lately.  One hour at the time.  If I want to get another portion of food, I make myself wait an hour--if i'm still hungry, then I'll get it.  more often than not i've gotten distracted and forgotten about that craving. :) Today has been a good day, considering it's monday. I made 2.2 miles on the elliptical (in 30 minutes no less!)  That was all the exercise I had time for at the gym--the childcare area closed at noon...and it was almost 11:30 when we got there!  Getting up and moving this morning was a challenge. So...cleaned house, washed clothes, gym, washed my honda pilot, and went to the grocery.  even treated self and son to pizza for lunch!  heh.  it was terrific. I still need to take my vitamins today.  Also need to drink more water.  I'm feeling cotton-mouthed as I type!  (i'm taking the hint and fixing a glass of water now).  I hate water. blech. hope everyone's having a good day. mary

Sounds like you are rebounding well !!!  I'm so glad to hear.  Did not do too well with food choices - but did take vitamins, never miss those unless I am out of routine for some reason (vacation, off work, etc.).   Went to gym with kids - eliptical for  5 whole minutes, can't quite do 30 yet, 15 minutes on treadmill (pretty fast though), some quick sets on a few machines...then kids to the pool for about an hour swimming laps ....Got to gym kinda late and we wanted a good hour in the pool...Kids worked out in the kids gym too - my 10-year-old has a gained a little over the summer not getting out enough, so trying to fix that.... Goal tomorrow is to get on schedule with eating (was supposed to be goal today ! )  so, tomorrow - will add some protein drinks inbetween small mostly protein meals and snacks - kind of on a timed plan - worked a few weeks ago for me, so will try again this week....got 40+ pounds to lose.... Love to ya - D

How do you jump rope for 10 minutes ?!!  I'm amazed .... Seriously, did you build up to it ?  When I have been exercising heavy, I can do lots and lots of jumping jacks, but like only for 3-4 minutes.... D

Building up to it girl.  But I do 5 minutes with a two to three minute break and then 5 more.  So, 10 minutes all together.     But, I take a step, jump, and jab class at the Y which combines step aerobics, kick boxing, and jumping.  And that class is really what helped build the endurance and stamina.  She makes us jump either rope or jumping jacks for 7 to 10 minutes.  She is tough.  We definitely know we have exercised when that class is over. I have been going to the Y for a few weeks (again) and am going to join a class like that soon - I love anything that has some tai-bo (sp) mixed in with other stuff - Hopefully they will have one in the mornings after school starts and I can just work that into my schedule.... Good going ! D

Look me up once you get a routine. :)  we'll be partners. I went to the Seniors aerobics class at the rez YMCA today.  the ladies were so so nice. haha.  and it wasn't bad at all--the music was a blast...i hadn't heard some of those songs since i was obsessed wtih the 'oldies' as a teenager.   they really made me feel comfortable--and the class was so you could intensify or not as you felt comfortable.  basic aerobics.  then they did a 15 minute stretch session at the end of class.  that was so relaxing!  i haven't felt so loose since my plastic surgery adventure.  i'm hoping to improve that with this class...they meet MWF at 9:30 if you wanna go with me!  The instructor also mentioned the flowood Y has a PACE class where you do a circuit kind of like Curves does..she said there were lots of age groups and lots of different skill level participants in the class and she recommended i give it a try.  soo.....we will see. mary

The class sounds fun ! The res-Y does have a PACE class, and the pace room is set up and you can go in there any time you want and just start the music and go - it is just like a Curves room - music starts and 30 or 40 seconds later (whichever you chose) tells you to "change station" - I used to do it all the time with a friend of mine - AND, as soon as school starts (next Friday 10th) I will be able to do a class with ya - maybe even next week would be good .....Kids and I went tonight to the res-Y - I did elliptical (7 minutes - ha), and treadmill at 33 and incline 2.5 for 40 minutes - then swam laps for about 45 minutes.... Really do need a workout partner - AND someone to help with eating habits a little would be wonderful !!!  Will be talking to you .... D
