Vena Cava Filters

Hi Again! I know I have talked on this subject before but I am wondering if there is anyone out there that used Dr King in Oxford that had the Filter put in? If so what I am wondering is does he put you to sleep for it? Please let me know if there is anyone out there.. Thanks Sonya Mantachie MS

Sonya, Dr. King is my HERO!  And yes I have a filter and no I was not put to sleep for it, local is all.  But I had a scope and was put to sleep!  He is ABSOLUTELY the *******ove him and his Staff! I hope this helps and good Luck! Angie S Meridian, Ms 242/167  -175 to date 7/2/04

Hi Sonya, I, too, had a vena cava filter placed prior to surgery.  Dr. King performed my endoscopy and Dr. Byars placed the filter.. I was given iv med to make me groggy or in my case...KNOCK me out for the endoscope but was awake during the filter...I'd do it again!!! Best wishes/prayers! Wanda Mack

I had a scope and vena filter done by Dr. King and Dr. Byars. I had no problems and the were done the same day. I LOVE both of them and feel I get GREAT care.
