It's me again. I think I am getting cold feet now worse than I was before and I don't even have a date yet.  I want to have this for my health and so I will be around longer for my kids but am getting more scared by the minute. I can't get my moms approval which I really want but then I know this is for my health. If that makes any since. I don't know what else to say. Thanks for listening to me run my mouth. Can I ask why you want your mom's approval?

It's not really the approval I guess it is more the support. She and I are really close. She is one of my best friends. Sonya

What kind of support are you asking for? Is she against the surgery? What are her reasons if she is? If you really want the surgery why won't she support you? She doesn't have to agree she just needs to support.

Hang in there Sonya.  It takes some time for people to get use to the fact of what your trying to do.  Ultimately its your decision and ofcourse your health comes first.  Sometimes its a 50 50 chance of a loved one coming around.  I sought after my mother's approval too she was resistant when I first made an attempt at it (read my first blogs) but now she's my weight mate.  Here's a hug supportive hug to you and I wish you the best on whatever decision you decide to make.  Just make sure the one that you do make you will feel within your heart is right and not make one that you will ultimately regret.
Ain't no stopping me now!  I'm on the move!  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, AMEN!

Cold feet.... definately normal!  I can't tell you HOW MANY people tried to talk me out of surgery!  Luckily my family was supportive, although they were nervous.  Another family member paved the way for me so they were able to see the good results before I ever even thought of having surgery.  Everyone I told I was going to have RNY had some horror story of a "friend of a friend" who DIED, or nearly died having surgery... blah blah blah...  I was also told I wasn't fat enough to have the surgery, etc...   Now I just say... phooey on you.. look at me now!  LOL Hang in there and know that we've got your back!
HUGS!!
