Hi Everyone! Finally have enough energy to post! My question is how are the supplements that are advertised?  Has anyone tried them, do they taste GOOD?  I know that when I do go back to work (which is on the road all of the time,) I will need something like that occasionally.  Is it worth the price?  Which is your favorite?  If you do not like them, why? Focusing on the positive!  Tracey

Hi, Tracey, happy to see you able to post!  My favorite protein is Unjury.  It can be ordered online and they ship it the same day, so there's not a very long wait.  The stuff dissolves nicely in milk (milk + 1 scoop of Unjury = 28g of protein), and I think it tastes better than anything else I've tried.  I like the chocolate best and the vanilla next - not too crazy about the strawberry.  You can get it in canisters and in single-serve packets, which helps when you travel.   Also, I've found when I do go out of town and can't store milk, I'll buy a container of non-fat, no sugar yogurt.  I take a bowl and spoon with me and I mix the yogurt and Unjury together for my protein fix.  Works very nicely and tastes pretty good, too.  You can also get Unjury unflavored, and they've just come out with a chicken broth-flavored Unjury, which I haven't tried yet.

Now we'll see what others have to say. Marcia

My favorite proteins are the Nectar proteins - some are tea flavored, some are kind of koolaid flavored - many to choose from - you can just "google" nectar protein...., but due to convenience and price I usually just have the Walmart whey protein, not sure of the brand but it's cheap about $11.95 for big ole cannister - I just stir the chocolate into skim milk with ice.  Unjury is very good too, and mixes well..... I haven't done any of the supplement things other than Atkins shakes occasionally.  I don't tolerate milk very well since surgery.  yogurt, either.  I have it occasionally (or if it's *in* something I'm okay with that) but to mix something in milk would never work for me. if you can find samples or friends who have it to try some of theirs, that's what i'd recommend until you figure out what you like or don't like before going out and buying a bunch of it.  our bodies tolerate things differently.  and you're right--alot of those are so expensive....I gave away the protein powders i'd bought pre-op because i knew i'd never use them. keep your head up! :) mary

Hey Tracey!!!! Glad your up and posting.  Hang in there girlie and will definatly get better per day.  My main source of protein has been the adkins advantage strawberry shakes.  They are delicious to me.  I'm always to broke to buy the powders but once I get there I'll let you know.  I will be in town for my follow up visit on July 5th.  If your up for it I'd love to get a good look at you because I know your looking faboulous!  Be Blessed and keep updating.
Ain't no stopping me now!  I'm on the move!  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, AMEN!

Hi tracey I use unjury whidch is whey protein and is easy for me to digest. I have just recently been using the premixed EAS myoplex light that is soy protein. I tolerate ok but have notice I have more hot flashes/sweats at  night when I drink the EAS. So I have gone back to unjury powder,. Hope you find one you like and can digest and tolerate well. Amy

All such great ideas! I was at the grocery store yesterday - gosh that wore me out, and decided to check out the Morning Star Farms, Boca and other products.  I used to eat a bunch of soy products and enjoyed them.  Did you know that the Morning Star Farms "burger" has 17 grms of protein????  There is a pretty good selection of products at Walmart and even better at the health food store - Kroger has a pretty good selection too and I know I like most of them.  They also have crumbles, that when in a sauce (like speghetti sauce) it tastes just like ground beef.  I may end up cooking and bringing leftovers with me when I travel an keep them in a cooler - or just learn what I can eat when out. Bathsheba, looking forward to seeing you on the 5th - call me and we can make arrangements!  Can't wait to see your skinny self! Focusing on the positive!  Tracey
