Tracey--how're ya feeling today??

Did not really get on the computer yesterday, running a fever and just really tired. Feeling better this morning. Got in 80 oz of fluid yesterday and just 21 grms of protein, but considering how I was feeling, I thought that was pretty good. I should make it to the full amount today.
I went to the hospital on Monday morning at 5:30 am, was taken back to the surgical unit, given the lala juice and telling my husband, man, this stuff works fast - and that was all she wrote until I was waking up in recovery - no telling the crazy things I said in there, but I do remember hurting. I was taken to my room and was wondering where my family was - they had not yet been told where I was and for over two hours they still sat waiting to be told. I did not have morphine, since it makes me sick so I had demerol (sp) and when my family finally made it, I said hello, I said I am pushing the button, Goodnight. On Tuesday, when I sat up in the bed, I started bleeding, so the nurses fixed the incision. It did it again that evening so they fixed it again, and then when I went to the bathroom at 2:00 am, two incisions opened and poured out blood! Must have been a pint of the stuff on the floor. Well I grabbed my stomach, yelled to my husband to get help NOW, but the nurses heard me told me to get back into bed, having to walk across my own blood to get there. They put a pressure bandage across 4 of the incisions. I had already gotten two pints of blood on Tuesday since my blood counts were real low, so on Wednesday, they recommended two more. Blood counts were still not what they should have been Wednesday night, but by Thursday morning they were good enough for me to go home. So it was not an UNEVENTFUL surgery, but it seems to be going better now. So, Still Focusing on the Positive! Tracey
