Anyone a mexico patient?

I had my lapband surgery this week (Monday) in Mexico. I thought that was a wonderful idea because I saved so much money. Now I'm getting worried about not being able to find a doctor to do my fills. I thought I had that worked out, but now I havn't heard back from my doctor in Mississippi, so I'm not sure he will do it. I'm worried about not having someone close to follow up with. I was very pleased with the doctor that did my surgery, but I'm a busy person and I don't want to fly to Mexico everytime I need something. Does anyone know of a doctor that will do my fills? I'm in North Mississippi, so Memphis is close. But I also go to Jackson, MS regularly. Help Please, I'm discouraged and wandering if I did the right thing. Stephanie

You could probably contact CMMC in Jackson and they could tell you what to do. They won't be happy but I am sure they can help you or tell you where to get help. Look in the Memphis paper and phone book and see what Doctors do the Lapband. I am sure they would not mind adding a patient. More money for them. lol Get on the main Obesity Help message board and ask. Hope this help.

I feel for ya, girl because surgeons are really really adamant about touching someone else's weight loss surgery patient. That is the only thing about going out of the country to have surgery. I have had friends move from one state to another after gastric bypass and have trouble finding a surgeon who would see them for follow-up care because they didn't do the surgery. I don't know why it is such a big deal unless there are liability issues or something, but anyway I hope you are able to find someone who will agree to see you because that would be inconvenient to have to go all the way to Mexico for every little thing you needed. Thanks. I did find a doctor to see me, and the one I wanted. So, I'm so relieved. Last night I dreamed that I went to Iraq to have surgery and was riding with a suicide bomber.  Is that crazy or what? I wish I would have given more consideration to going to Mexico. When you are thinking about money, it sounds good. But in the long run, there are more issues to face than you initially realize.

do you mind me asking who is going to do your fills for you ?

I was also wondering who was gonna do the fills for her I am a mexico patient and drive  to Dallas to get my fills done...I would love someone closer to Gulfport Ms....
