Plateau three weeks out...

Help! My surgery was April 16 at CMMC. I've lost 25 pounds (yay) but have plateau'd now for 4 days... Is this normal? I'm starting my second week of pureed food, am trying to get all my protein (yuk) in, and am walking 1 to 1 1/2 miles a day...I've been on so many diets where I'd get down 20 pounds, then the weight would start coming back on. (Yeah, right, as if that never happened to anybody else on this forum.) I know that you veterans are probably laughing at this question, and I am grateful for the 25 pounds, but I've got this phobia I need to get over. Thanks! I'll see the Jackson area Losers tomorrow night. Marcia

Hey Marcia, Your body is taking a small break. Try on clothes from your closet and you will be shocked to find out that you are losing inches even when the numbers on the scale don't move. (I'm pre-op,but I've read this on lots of profiles) Continued success. Debra

The weight WILL come off at this point whether you want it to or not....There WILL be times that it stops for 2 to 3 days to a week or two, and then BOOM - you'll see you have started loosing big time again....So, just hang on for a great ride ! ha - At this point (3 weeks out) your body is just trying to catch up to what is happening to it. I hadn't thought about my body's adjusting. I am in some of my thinner clothes, so I'll just try to be patient. Thanks for the encouragement! Marcia
