Help !!!

I'm kind of new to the Brookhaven area and want to know if there are any others here from the Brookhaven areas who has medicaid and was approved for any weight loss surgery . I have a high BMI and was told by someone that Mississippi Medicaid may pay if my BMI was over 50

It is my understanding that at this point Medicaid does NOT pay for WLS, but that may change. Or they may cover it IF the clinic you use has met certain criteria... which is also hard to find. I forget what they call it, but CMMC's clinic is VERY close to meeting that criteria. Call CMMC 601-376-2474. They could tell you more about it. Medicare however does pay in some instances.... or was 2 years ago. PS... CMMC (central Mississippi medical center) is in Jackson. Just in case you didn't know. Welcome to the board! HUGS Kimberly

If I am not mistaken the certification by the clinic Kim was referring to is "center of excellence". According to my primary doc a surgeon in the Tupelo area has this certification. I used CMMC and was EXTREMELY please with Dr. Ferrugia. Cheryl
