I'm 3 weeks post op now, should I be walking alot yet? Like excersise walking? I'm still pretty soar but I can walk if that's what I need to be doing? My dh keeps telling me not to over do but I thought I was suppose to be pushing myself so I can get well quicker. BTW, I'm so ready to sleep on my side or belly again. ha How long before I can do that?

My doctor cleared me for light exercise walking at 4 weeks out. So, I would take it pretty easy until then or until your doc releases you. I did do some really light walking like outside around in the yard and stuff so that I could get over the soreness quicker, but I didn't start exercising until after 4 weeks. I don't know how long before you can sleep on your side or belly. I am over 3 years out and my memory is failing me on that one. Maybe somebody else can chime in on that one. LOL. Melissa

I wasnt released to walk like on the walking path or treadmill till after my 4 week appt. I slept on my side about 6-8 weeks post op. Everyone heals different though. I was sore on my left side for a few months that is where my biggest incision is. Your body will tell you if you are doing to much. You will have increased pain. But PLEASE check with your doctor or his nurse. They are the ones you should be listening too. None of us here have MD behind our names. Welcome to the loosing side!!!!! Amy

Walk hon... but don't do anything strenuous (sp?) for at least 6 weeks, and until you are cleared by the doc. I know you feel better each day, but you are still healing, and have a way to go to get completely healed. Remember after childbirth the guideline was always at least 6 weeks.... that's what I'm going by, and that's nothing compared to what you just had done, even if you had a c-section. So take a chill pill..... LMAO! (you know I can tease you) You are right where you should be! It was months before I could sleep in a bed period... but I was definately the exception. So I'm no help there. Hey... Still got my numbers? Call me if you need me! HUGS K
