Update
I'm one week out today and doing pretty well. It sure isn't easy but I've been blessed not to have any terrible set backs as of yet. I'm ready for phase 2 diet so ya'll give me some suggestions. I'm just not crazy about yogurt. I look forward to meeting ya'll at the next support group meeting. Karen, Thanks for coming by the hospital with Kim. Weird meeting people for the first time when you have an oxygen mask glued to your nose. ha Alright, ya'll tell me what I can and can't do

Glad to hear you are up and about - I did call you while Kim was gone, and your son said you were at neighbor/friend's house. So I was not too worried if you were able to get up and out of the house - Well, you've made it to the "other side" - bet nobody could tell you how that was going to be, you just have to live it !
The only advice I have is walk as much as you can, that one thing will certainly help you heal (and lose weight).....Have you tried the Kroger carb control yogurt - it is my personal favorite - it has 12gm protein, and is made with Splenda. Other than that, I am not sure what your doctor gives you for the phase 2 diet. I had a different doctor, and he had us on clear liquids for 2 weeks, full liquids for about 6 weeks, and then soft foods for a while after that...so, can't help you with that.
It is great to hear from you !
DeAnna
Thanks for checking on me DeAnna but I don't have a son and I sho ain't been out the house since I had surgery. ha I have no idea who you talked to but it wasn't anybody from my house. ha I appreciate you calling though! I am trying to walk as much as possible and was doing pretty good but now everytime I stand up this pain starts building up in my stomach. As soon as I lay back it stops. Anybody have any idea what that can be? I have been coughing sooooo much I feel like I have ripped something.
Okay okay, okay - so I called the wrong person - actually I got confused because everybody is using different screen names than their actual names (which is the safe thing to do), but I am way too confused to keep up with names when I have not seen faces - I will be glad to meet all you new postops (and preops) in person some time. !!
Love you guys - D
