I am 7 months post-op and have finally lost 102 lbs! I stayed at a loss of 98 lbs for bout 4 weeks. but finally made it over the 100lb mark. I know this sounds crazy but the more I eat, the more I loose! So now I am finding that I just want to eat all the time because I loose more! I want to snack on stuff....Like today it is 1:11 pm and here's what I have ate so far today: a S/F popsicle on the way to work, at work for Breakfast - 1/2 pack of grits, Lunch- can of chicken noodle soup and a big ole naval orange and also I have been snacking on beef jerky all day..........How do I stop? I just want to eat. I did take a break earlier and walked 1 mile but I am just afraid that I am going to start gaining...even though the scales do the opposite now, I am afraid that if I keeping eating like this they'll go the other way (Gain)............Any Advice from any old timers? I'll die if I gain all this weight back! HELP! THNAKS!

Hey - old timer here - For most of us, no matter what you do for the first 1 year to 18 months or so, you will lose - This is "magic" time.....Plus, all in all, it may seem like you have snacked all day, but that is NOTHING in the way of very much food. Just compare it to what all you used to could eat - 1 SF popsicle 1/2 pack of grits (how much is that like 1/4 of a cup ?) 1 can chicken noodle soup - 1 -2 cups of liquid mostly 1 orange beef jerky (unless you have eaten 2-3 pounds of the stuff) is that even 300-500 calories ? But, seriously - during this year, you do need to develop some good eating habits, because after about a year or so, you WILL be able to eat more - still not as much at one sitting as you used to, but LOTS more....I could eat a whole entire pizza if I so desired, might take a while, but I could do it....(I'm almost 4 years out)....So, it is ok to eat all during the day, but get on a good schedule, ex - breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, supper, and maybe another snack (more like 6 small meals). That way you won't feel like food has control of you, or that you are looking for something to much on all day. Also, are you taking your vitamins and supplements? Sometimes if you are not, it will cause you to be searching for food. There are a couple of good things you can "google" - pouch rules for dummies also - sparkpeople.com Sparkpeople.com is a free site that has LOTS and lots of good information - motivational articles from professionals, health advice, nutrition advice, exercise demos and plans, etc.... I'm glad you are wanting to get on track and asking questions - so, come back and post, especially when you are feeling panicky about what is going on with food and such. I still NEED the support on this board and from my WLS friends. I am not the best advice giver, but I have certainly been where you are at, and it can be scary, so I hope this has helped some.... anytime - you just keep asking and digging for information...I just looked at your profile, and I remember you posting once or twice before. You look so pretty ! This board gets a little slow sometimes and the main board can be a pain in the butt...one good forum to look at sometimes is your surgery month and year - lots of people going through some of the same things you are (just not us old timers that know what it is like further out). But come here and post with us whenever you want (or need), there are a few of us left that post a good bit, or at least check on here during the day.... Have a good rest of the week ! DeAnna
