Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anita,
I agree with Pam and DeAnna. It's natural to have those feelings. I almost jumped down from the pre-op bed and ran out before my surgery. I even told the nurse that I was having second thought and she said to me, "Honey, we had a lady last week who left this room due to 2nd thoughts and she will be in tomorrow again to have it done." Her pep talk got me through it.
I just have to tell you also that when you weigh all the GOOD stuff that you hear about WLS and all the bad stuff that you hear, the GOOD out weighs the bad by far. It has personally changed my life and my family's lives for the best! I have a mother who doesn't worry about my health and a husband and a child that can enjoy summer time again without me hendering them.........now I join them.
With all that said, It's a personal choice that you have to search your soul and make for yourself.
Take Care!

Hi Anita,
Nervous to be expected...be sure to take in a lot of protein prior to the 9th....this will help in healing if you have the protein on board. It is hard...but try to get in at least 60-80g of protein each day. My daughter and husband had the surgery and their health has improved ssssooooo much....good luck and keep in touch.
Anita, I believe Dr. Cleveland is doing your surgery and he did mine on March 12th, 2007....just a few weeks ago. I was scared to death. My mother just died a few months ago and all I could think about was death and dying up until the point I was rolling into surgery. However, everything went fine. 4North nurses will take great care of you and they are very familiar with the procedure you went through. Alot of recovery is in your mind. MAKE yourself get up and walk and WILL yourself a quick recovery. It hurt like heck to walk but I had my sister there walking with me and my boyfriend also and I realized this was the best decision I had ever made. You will do just fine....think of all the good and positive things you have to look forward to and you will find the inner strength you so desperately seek. I will check on you next week.
