So what is a good protien shake? I'm on the Glucerna shakes until surgery and I'm surprised the choc is pretty good.

I use Unjury if you go to the website.. www.unjury.com get the number and they will send you samples of each flavor so you can try before you buy. They chocolate is my favorite one. It is whey protein not soy. It is easy to digest. Hope you find one that you like what ever brand it may be. Amy

Good for you, Jereni!! Since you're in Madison, I guess the ride home isn't too far for you...but I took a soft, thin throw pillow to tuck between me and the seatbelt. It really helped since I had over a 3-hr ride. I used a mint flavored lip gel made by Bliss (ordered online from Sephora) while I was in hosp. and afterwards. It softens lips plus freshens breath...guess I sound like a commercial. My favorite protein drink is mochajava or cappucino by AchievOne, but it's kind of expensive and frequently out of stock (bariatriceating.com). I also use AdvanEdge cafe caramel (Kroger is only one in V'burg that has the coffee flavor). For a month or two after surgery I used strawberry Unjury but got to the point I couldn't stand it any longer. My advice is don't buy too much of anything until you figure out what you can tolerate post WLS. I've never been much of a coffee drinker but love the coffee-flavored drinks. I always loved anything choc. flavored but not so much now. Go figure!! My prayer for you is that you will have an uneventful surgery next Tuesday and a speedy recovery. Blessings, Pam

You go Jereni....another loser for Madison County. We rock! Kimberly has been out of town with her mother but I think she is home now. She will be there for you I promise. She was there for me and I greatly appreciate everything she did and said. She is the best every. Good luck and we will check on you next week. By the way...I just had surgery on March 12th so I am a newby as well!
