Updates: I have my first appt set up to talk to my PCM about surgery!!
So I know I've been a little MIA, but I check often.. I just haven't been really able to post, but I wanted to let you all know that on April 17th I have my first appt with my PCM to talk to him/her about getting the consult put in to General Surgery. I so hope that the doctor I'm see is for this surgery.. My PCM has changed so many times since the hurricane and I've never seen this one.. I did stop by the General Surgery after my yearly womans appt and asked them when they are going to get the program started back up and they said that Dr.Dolan is starting to see consults for it and will start surgery soon after. I'm hoping for around June 15th. I did start on the Wellbutrin yesterday and I'm feeling a little sluggish, but hopefully that's just my body getting use to it.. I so hope that everything works out. I'm looking forward to joining everyone on the losers bench.
April I am almost 2 years post op and can tell you that everyone at Keesler is AWESOME. Dr Dolan didnt do my surgery for gastric bypass Dr Lo did. But Dr Dolan did my gallbladder removal last may at the VA and did an awesome job. I have lost 120lbs and feel like I am 25 again even though I am 36. Good luck to you. When you go to your pcm and general surgery make sure you have documented all the diets and weight loss programs you have tried and how many pounds you lost and how long you were on the diet and then how much you gained back. I had my first appt with my pcm in early June of 2005 and had my surgery in July 2005. If you have all your ducks in a row it will go alot faster. Find out also when the classes are at Keesler and make sure you go. They were required before surgery when I had mine. I dont know if the still are. Rhonda might know. Hopefully she will post to this. Good luck to you!!!!
