My mom is having surgery Wednesday morning. She has Chrones disease and is hemmoriging (sp?) internally. They are going to cut her open and take out everything that looks bad, which means they will remove several feet of intestines and possibly colon. She's terrified she'll wake up with a Colostomy. *sigh* I tried to tell her there are worse things, but that has always been her ultimate fear. Anyway, last time she had this kind of surgery she was 28 and relatively healthy. She was in the hospital for months and almost didn't make it. Now she's 57 and severely anemic, and an uncontrolled diabeti****ep telling myself that they've come a long long way in the last 20+ years, but it's still scaring me! So.... off I go to Augusta, Ga. It's a 9 hour trip for me. I will have computer access when at the house, but I don't plan on spending much time there. Just wanted you all to know that I haven't dropped off the face of the earth! LOL Thanks for the prayers... will post an update when I can. HUGS K

First of all - correct spelling - Crohn's disease, hemorrhaging - jk - oh, that's going to look bad to anybody who does not know you are my very best friend, and I am only picking at you about spelling - because you know you are the first person I go to for any English grammar questions that I have...... Second of all - I am steady praying for you and the trip, and especially for your mother who is just a lovely fun loving person - for surgery and a very quick recovery. Lots of love and prayers - DeAnna

Hope you have a safe trip. And I hope your mom's surgery goes well and she recovers really quick. I know how Crohn's Disease can be. My sister has it. She has been lucky so far not to have lost any intestines, but she has had many a hospital stay and a couple of surgeries because of it. It can be a tough disease. Melissa
