Protein ball recipes
Yall, my friend in Brandon who has Muscular Dystrophy is trying to lose wt to remain as mobile as possible. She cannot hve WLS because of many health restraints.
Remind me of the protein ball recipe. I never used it but I know she would like it.
She lives alone and is looking for some good wt loss recipes.
She is going to a wt loss program at her church (First Choice?????)
She is suppose to serve refreshments in a few weeks at a meeting at her home.
She is not able to do a lot of cooking/standing/ etc.
Thanks in advance for your help. glenda
The one I got off this board was:
1 cup peanut butter (reduced fat)
1 cup protein powder, I used choc.
1/2 cup oatmeal, not the quick cooking kind
Mix together, form into balls
I make 12 balls, approx 90 calorie, 10 grams of protein but you can figure it out by your nutrition labels on your products as all brands differ
Hey! I am sorry I have not called you yet, I am a horrible friend. I am so swamped with school that sometimes I feel I can't breathe. I need to take some time to come up there for a day and spend some time with you. I can't believe that I have not seen you since your birthday. Hopefully soon, I can take some time away, even if it is just for a Saturday to come up and spend a few hours. I have a major test this week in Biology, so it has consumed all of my time. I will try my best to make the time to call you this weekend, we have a lot of catching up to do!
Love ya, give everyone at your house a big hug from me, including yourself.

Glenda,
There are some links in the website. You need to go to interest groups, baking and cooking, there there are some posts with recipes for protein balls. The shake recipes I got were from that site. I could not believe what you can do with protein powder, so I copied and pasted it onto the MS board for all. I remember that most of the protein ball reciepes have creme cheese in them. I guess that you could make almost unlimited combinations! I really love pecans and dried fruits chopped finely. You can roll the balls in chopped nuts.
Your friend could just whiz up some protein shakes for everyone with fruits added and serve a low cal dip with baked chips. Cucumber sandwiches are a good choice, low in calories but really taste great!
Tried to reply to your email, but server would not let me so I posted instead!
