can someone help me out....anyone know about BCBS AL

Do they cover RNY or Lapband? My brother's doctor recommended him looking into WLS or Lapband. He doesn't want either one but is going to do some research. I'm just wondering if anyone has any clue if BCBS of AL is easy to go thru. He works at Walmart. I heard in the past they don't cover any of it. Thanks!

Hi Melissa, I have just had Gastric Bypass 7 days ago and had BCBBS AL and it did cover my surgery, hospital stay and all at 90% after my co-pay and out of pocket which was only $1500.00. Small price to pay for this type of surgery. I started with my insurance company in June and was approved by October so it doesn't really take them long at all. Hope that helps :-)

Thanks Amy. I've had GB surgery but my insurance is of north carolina..or south. Just didn't know about AL.

I had BCBS of AL and it covered all but 750.00 of my total bill. That was 3 years ago. Melissa
