Melissa, Thanks for the info on Theodore Al. I checked it out some and I don't know yet about it. We are looking into alot of places. When my husband comes home, which will be Feb 14th, we are going to go check some places out. It's better to go look in person, because you don't always get the best info on the internet. Now for us we live In Tuscaloosa County Al and Tuscaloosa is a huge county. But we live like 20 minutes eaither way from the city. But we do have a small grocery store about 6 miles up the road. The biggest thing around us is the Mercede's Benz plant. But other then that we are a small town. I like it because it is very quite and there is hardly no crime going on. Just kinda in the woods a little but we have one good thing going for us and that's the interstate I20/59 and it's right over the hill.lol Thank you again. Mary

Hello Mary, I just wanted to say hi and to introduce myself as I related to your post as my husband is an engineer offshore - in Singapore right now. He started offshore about 1-1/2 yrs ago and at this stage of our life (50's) it has surely been an adjustment. His job was downsized and to continue with the income we were used to, he chose offshore as my brother-in-law has been doing it for 10 years. Great money but very lonely! We retired from the Marine Corps 10 yrs ago - it got so I could pack up a house and move in 2 days! LOL! Best of luck and remember that it will all work out the way it's supposed to!

Kathy, My husband has been doing this for almost 6yrs. And there is not a place around here that pays the kind of money he makes offshore. But we just came across this job here and checked it out. My husband will make the same kind of money as he does offshore and he will work 5 days a week 8 hrs a day and off on weekends unless there is a oil spill then they have to leave for a few days. But I told my husband I am use to 28 days now and I don't think I would know what to do with just 3 or 4 days. That would work perfect for me and him. The company he works for now is a 28 on and 28 off and that was all good for a while compared to the company he worked with before. Where as he worked 28 and was only off 14. That was so hard. But if you and your husband are looking for the same kind of money and him be home too, I can tell you about the job. They are hiring for several positions. Let me know. I know how lonely it can be. Mary, yes - would love to forward the information about the job to him. As it is now, he travels on his own time so he's typically home about 3-1/2 weeks and gone 32-34 days. Just too long! Thanks for any information you can share. Also, what do you (or any others) think my chances are of having the lapband surgery? When I went last year, my BMI was 32 - I've gained weight and it is now 36. I'm not trying to gain to have surgery! The older I get, the more weight I gain. I used to own my own fitness center and was an exercise freak. I developed nerve damage in my feet and can no longer exercise the way I used to. That's when the weight started to creep on - more than 5 yrs ago. I was used to exercise and pretty much eating what I wanted and always kept my weight down. When I stopped exercise and hit 50, everything changed! I've tried every diet, been to dr after dr, and just cannot lose weight. Any words of wisdom are appreciated. Thanks so much to all of you!

Kathy, You have mail!!! Also on the lapband thing, I don't know much about it. I had RNY and it has been perfect for me. But I have heard that it is a good way to go for those that don't have a lot of weight to lose. But you need to research research research. That way you can see if it is for you. I hope this helped any. But I sent you a email with other info, check it out and let me know what you think. Mary

Hi On the trailer moving need to check and see if the trailer is built for this zone down close to the coast I don't know how far the coast zone goes north. But I do know that you can't have a trailer down in the coast area that is not zoned for this area.. Just a idea of something to check on before it is to late. Good luck on your move you will love the coast.Of course I am partial to it as I was born and raised near the coast. Sheila
