Dr Michael King Oxford MS

I was just wondering if there is anyone here that used Dr King from Oxford MS? That is who I am supposed to be using but haven't heard anything yet because my reg physician hasn't sent all her paper work in yet. Thanks Sonya Baker

Hi Sonya, I am officially five weeks post op!! Dr. King performed my Open Rny December 1st! He is a consistent and concerned physician who holds nothing back from his patients. The Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford is listed as a hospital of excellence for bariatric procedures. I feel that I received excellent nursing care and that Dr. King was ever present before, during and after my surgery. I am thankful that I made the decision to have him as my bariatric physician! Hi Sonya, I used Dr King and Oxford Hospital. He did my Lap Band on 9/18/06. I agree that he is a caring and concern Dr that has only your best interest a heart. Hi Sonya, Dr. King did my surgery 18 months ago. I am still at 142 lbs and he is still just as careful and caring now as he was back then. I did almost a year's worth of research before I chose him. I even live in Jackson and drive 3 hours to Oxford just to use him. I would never have any other surgical procedure done by anyone other than him since my RNY last July 2005. I would drive to Oxford for him to operate on me for ANYTHING !!!!!! He and his staff are the best in our State. Follow his directions to the tee and you will be fine, I am almost 18 months post op and have only thrown up 1 time since surgery and that was due to something I did wrong against his instructions. Thanks for all the replys. I have been staying intouch with Becky Wilson the head nurse. She is just waiting on my dr to send in her papers and go from there. I have done lots of research on the gastric and on Dr King and am ready for it all. I just hope I have success like you all have had. I love this site because I know it answeres most of my questions that I am concerned with. Thanks bunches.. Sonya

Becky is the first person you talk to to coordinate your insurance, referrals and such, and, as you can tell, she is absolutely wonderful. I had surgery with Dr. King and could not be happier. I live in the Jackson/reservoir area and do not make the drive up there any more, but will tell you the hospital and the care there was superb.

And Becky is your lifeline. She is my MOST BESTEST BUD up there. You will adore her... Sue
