Losing weight too fast?

Is there such a thing as losing too fast after having WLS? I'm alittle over 5 months out and I've lost over 100 lbs. I see other posts on the board and there are some that are out further than I am and have not lost as much as I have. I guess I'm just worried I'm losing too fast and I'll be doomed in the long run and put the weight back on. Has anyone lost what I have and have put the weight back on years later? Just a little worried.... Karine

Karine, Don't worry precious... you are doing great! I am 7 months out and have lost 112 lbs... seems like last month (6mth) things started slowing down for me - must be my first plateau! Marci

I think it has a lot to do with how much you weighed when you started. The more you weigh, the fast it comes off. I've lost 83lbs in less than 4 months. I'll hopefully hit the 100lbs point in February.

Karine, You are doing great.... don't borrow trouble. Everyone has the possibility of putting the weight back on, regardless of where they started and ended, and how quickly or slowly they arrived. Just keep up the GREAT work, and make those life changing habits. Watch the "grazing" habit and be aware of the head hunger. It's a demon we ALL battle. HUGS!!! K

I sometimes lurk here from the La board, but in truthfulness I haven't been on OH in months. Just haven't had time. I lost 100 lbs in 3 months which was really great as I weighed over 450 lbs. However, after this milestone I started losing feeling in my lower body. I couldn't even step up on a curb without my husband helping me. I ended up with a vitamin deficiency, B1 to be exact. I think you are doing great, but I just wanted to let you know that the drs told me I was losing weight too fast. When I reached a plateau my internal medicine dr was actually happy. He hoped it would give me time to get the nerve problems straightned out. Here I am a year later and the numbness is gone. Just as long as you feel good and are taking your vitamins you are doing good. congrats on your wedding
