I'm Home now!!!
Hello Everyone!
It has been a 'while' since I posted !!! My surgery was done December 1st; I was released to come home after an overnight stay in Oxford and arrived at my MAMA's December 6th. I have been at 'my mama's' until about three days ago.
My surgery went well ... I wasn't too spiffy when I woke up feeling pain but the ICU unit was really patient with me and by Sunday morning I was walking around the ICU unit, drinking my fluids and needing very little pain med.
I returned to the doctor on the 12th of December to have the staples removed - I have one stubborn area that does not want to 'mend together' but with time it will. I had lost 23 lbs at that time. I have been taken off of my actos for type II diabetes (my level is below 100 everyday - Praise God!!) My blood pressure meds were decreased -- I am now taking 180 mg/daily where I was taking over 500mg/daily.
I have to take prevacid and effexor as well in addition to my daily intake of multivitamin and thiamine. The walking issue is something I have to tackle each day as well as trying to make sure I drink enough water.
I am on basically a liquid diet but can have soups, mashed-soupy potatoes, puddings, and custards!! When I return on the 9th of January, Dr. King tells me I will have 'real food'...
Thank you to all who have been praying for me and a special thank you to my angelette - Albertina Everhart from Holly Springs, MS. She has been a blessing to me -- she came up immediately following my surgery and again when I was placed in a room... she even came up to meet me when I returned for my post op doctor visit. She is scheduled for surgery soon in GA and I would really like to be there for her as well....
I hope to stay in touch with everyone....
God bless ... Have a safe and blessed Christmas!!
s keep you safe,
Wanda Mack
