Inspiration?

Hi! My name is Sonya. I am wanting to have the gastric bypass done and have been on the waiting list for 7 months now. I have medicare and still haven't heard anything from the dr that i have chosen..my regular physician is pushing it and is all for me having it..have also seen the Physiciatrist about it too...I am getting kind of scared about having it but think it would be great for me and my health..I am a diabetic and have slipped disk in my lower back for which i have to take pain meds and i want off all meds...I was just hoping someone could talk to me and give me some inspiration..I have 2 kids that don't want me to have it because in 2003 I had colon cancer and had to have the cancer removed and ever since then they are scared about me having surgeries done.. I would like to talk to more that has had it done. Another thing is why does the waiting list take so long? I read where there was someone that had Medicaid and was only on list for 6 months.. Hi Sonya; I can feel you pain. I waited almost a year to have the surgery. It saved my life. I was very fortunante. I had no problems. I have a ruptured disk in my lower back too. I have arthritse is both knees and both hips. Since I have had surgery I can do almost anything. All the pain in my knees and hips are gone. I am currently working 2 jobs. one 40 hrs a week and part time job is 30 to 35 hrs a week. On my part time job I stock and cashier and that is hard work. I have been able to keep up with both jobs and lose weight!! I am not sure about Medicaid. Just keep bugging them. They will either get tired or push you through.
