Medicaid question??????????????

Hey everyone need your help. I have a friend who has medicaid and is looking into surgery. Does Medicaid cover wls? She is from Mississippi. Thanks Amy

Hi Amy, I have read in prior posts that medicaid does not cover WLS but I don't know that personally. Wish I could be more help Cindy

I know my Dr was working on being able to accept Medicaid.... It would be worth it to talk to the Drs office and see. Their insurance person could tell you for sure.

HEY Amy! I don't think it does. But have your friend check with UMC about their grant program that pays for ALL medical services for 2 years.....I am not sure if they are still doing this, but it won't hurt to ask! smoochies Arlies

I know Dr. Gregory adams in decatur, alabama takes medicaid for WLS. If he still does you might want to call his office the number is ...I believe it is 1-(256) 355-6414. Dr. Adams and Dr. Chandler does WLS. Dr. Adams did my surgery. I don't think it matters what state you are from, there was a lady from florida there when I was there. Decatur is near huntsville, al ( where the nasa space center is). I hope this helps crystal
