Havent heard from a lot of you in ages, so it is time for a check-in to see if we have "lost" someone along the way!!!!! Post your beginning weight and current weight, surgery dates and months out... Also post hints for keeping weight off if you have some suggestions, would be really appreciated! I will start........................................................................ Pre op weight was 245 (this is before the liquid diet) Current weight is 151 (give or take a 3 pound fluctuation) Weight lost 95 pounds................... Size 12 pt. ladies pants and 14 blouse......... size 12 dress.............. Surgery was June 29, 2005, I am 19 months out. I cut back on snacks when weight creeps up. Mostly I eat crackers and stuff like that, but try to limit the sugar. I am still "dumping" at times, although I can sneak a bite of things at times. I also up the green veggies, I mostly eat lightly sauted vegtables, including pak choi, cabbage, bok choi, choi sum, sprouts, spinach, Greens of all kinds, broccoli. Need to up the protein some, and am taking 2 multi-vitamins a day. I walk (A LOT) it seems to help burn off some of the weight and anxiety. Lately, at times I feel very nervous, and may need meds. Also have trouble sleeping soundly so have taken some light otc meds to help that, but suggestions are needed. I have kicked the sugar habit, using splenda in everything, and it tastes great. Thanksgiving was really good and no one knew that things were sugar free (I didn't even tell them) LOL!!!!! Miss hearing from all of you since I am way over here in Hong Kong. We are moving home during the summer, and I will be on the front row for the meetings, so many newbies I want to meet too!!!!! Cheryl

Hi!!!! I had surgery August 1, 2006(4 months Post-op). My starting weight was 362 and my current weight is 284. I believe that makes 78 pounds. I just had fruit added to my list of "can haves" so I am very excited about that! YAY!!! Thanks to everyone for their support!!! Hugs, Danielle

Way to go!!! Honey you are in for some serious WOW moments in the next few months!!! For example, people will not even recognize you! LOL! I love fruit, and you know that I did not even like fruit before surgery! Now it seems I can not live without it and crave for it! Unthinkable! Hang in there, the best is yet to come!!! Cheryl

Hello Cheryl, It's COLD this morning in Brookhaven! BRRRRRRRRRRR! It is so good to be back on line. I have really been MIA. Ok, let's see. I started out at 311 and now weigh 181. That is 130 pounds!!!!!!!!! I never in a million years knew this was possible. I feel so wonderful. I am walking about 4-5 miles at least 5 days a week. My physical health has improved 100%. My hint for my success is 1% cottage cheese and pineapple chunks in it's own juice. I love this and have it everyday. I also drink at least 132 oz of peach tea a day. I also, still have not had anything with sugar or fried foods. I just made up my mind that these were not allowed for me anymore and I really haven't missed anything. I am looking forward to having you home here in Brookhaven. We can go to the support meetings together and maybe you would join me on my walking route. You take care of yourself and I use the perscription ATIVAN for my anxiety. Maybe your doctor would consider it for you. (the pill is tiny) Oh, I almost forgot, I had my surgery 1 year and 6 days ago. Good eating to all, Merry Christmas, Jan

That sounds great!!!! I really do need to walk and have to stay on it in order to keep down my weight. I am going to talk to the doctor here about the anxiety, but probably I will not be able to get meds until I go back to US. Chinese do not seem to think those things are necessary???? Sugar is really a demon, and good for you that you are off of it. I try to use Splenda all the time, Sugar is really the key to weight loss. I am looking forward to seeing you, I know you look just marvelous!!!! Cheryl

Hey there. I'm still here. Surgery date : 2/28/06 Pre-op: 300 ( was heavier than this..but never weighed on the scales to prove it) now: 188 (amazing...no loss for 2 months actually gained 4 pounds over thanksgiving--when i got determined to lose those four, i lost that plus another 4!) goal: 175 (this was a revision surgery for me...so i never expected to get this far) doing good. need to exercise--but about all i get in is playing with my 4 year old. i'm a nurse and work 12 hour days and just don't make time for the gym. hope that will change soon. plan to go to the YMCA (Deanna, thought you were gonna make sure i did that!) anyway. still read the board daily. don't post too often. mary
