My Medical Eva. and Nut. Assessment...

I went this past Thursday for my Medical Evaluation and the Nut. Asssessmet. It went fairly well. The Nut. came in and said that I'd passed the test with flying colors and that she wasn't concerned about me not being able to adjust after surgery. So she met with me for about 10 minutes, then she was out of there. The doc. that helps do the medical evaluation was out of town, so the nurse practitioner had to take up the slack. I sat in the waiting room for 2 1/2 hours waiting, but it was worth it. The nurse came in and went over every test that I'd had done at Dr. Salameh's the month before, and also some of the tests I'd had sent to them. Most everything was fine, but she had a couple concerns. My LDL cholesterol was high, for their diabetic standards. I'm not diabetic, but they use the diabet standards as a guideline. 0-200 is normal and mine was 181. Out of about 6 blood pressure documentations, my blood pressure was high twice. So I have to see my PCP to see if he wants to treat me for high blood pressure, which he knows that it's rarely high, so I'm sure he won't want to. I'm supposed to cut down on fried foods and red meat, and exercise to get my cholesterol down. My ABG test was very low too. It was 71, with the normal being around 100. I'd spend the previous 2 days before that test was done with my parents. My dad is a heavy chain smoker and the nurse said that could have something to do with it. My heart rate was high too, when she took it there. But she'd just asked me to move from the chair to the bed thingy and to pull down my girdle, etc. Girdles are work, lol, of course my heart rate went up. She basically said that none of that would keep me from having the surgery, so now I'm just waiting on the board to meet at the end of the month. Then they'll call me with a pre-op appt., I suppose. And on that day, I'll get my surgery date. Joyce, does all this sound right and okay?????????? Sorry to write a novel. Brandi :~)

In my all knowing (LOL) opinion, all that should HELP you get surgery - It seems the more things that are wrong, the easier to get approved - Of course, I'm sure they want to be sure you do not have any heart problems that would require you to be evaluated by a cardiologist who would then tell them you are safe for surgery too.... So, the next thing is a date? Deanna -
